I also make a bit of furniture, old-time gingerbread restorations on houses and signs in the shop.  Here are a few examples.
Maple Butcher Block Table

Made entirely from various types of maple, this table is sturdy enough to drive a car on.  There's room
allotted on it for knives, paper towels, a storage outside for tool hanging and a drawer built-in under the
butcher block top.  All this, plus a storage shelf on the bottom.
Telephone Stand

This little item is made from standard, everyday Ponderosa Pine, heavily stained with Red Mahogany stain (3
applications) and finished with spar urethane.

Note the finger-joint drawer.  The fingers were hand-cut and fitted, as all my finger-joints are.  There's even a bookshelf on
the bottom.
Cedar Chest

Standing 40" wide, 20" deep and 24" high, this chest is cut entirely from 3/4" solid Eastern Red
Cedar.
