Great Planes Spirit 100 Sailplane - My latest R/C sailplane ready for its first flight - 100" wing on this critter. I flew this as the Aquila was. It could use a more effective rudder, especially on the launch. Magnificent sailplane anyway!!!!!
Yeah, I get out my "radio" planes once-in-awhile too, I'm not just a control-liner. This page has a couple of my more favorite planes.
Great Planes Piper J-3 Cub - My first sport-scale aircraft. As of this writing (2 Apr 2002) it's just finished. Tomorrow it goes out for its first engine run-up. UPDATE: 7 April 2002 -- she's flown!!! WOW! What an airplane! This is everything I've ever UPDATE of the update: 11 September 2003 -- Nothing but good things here. She's been flying constantly without even one mishap. Great basic aerobatics too.
Carl Goldberg Sr. Falcon - Probably the #1 most fun R/C aircraft I've flown. Now working on 36 years old and still going strong. Installed a new computerized radio on Saturday, 9 September 2000. She's flying again; restoration completed in late July 2003. Take a look! Just click on the pic for updates and to see her as she is now.
With the 100" wing, this is one of only two "unlimited" sailplanes available today. The other being the "Bird of Time" which can be seen on my Bird of Time page. Click on either pic to see her pages. |

Aquila Sailplane - My first R/C sailplane - 100" wing on this critter. I flew this a lot in Berlin, finally came to a rather grevious end in Laurel Maryland when it clipped a phone pole while landing. That pole just jumped right out and swatted it!!!!
Great Planes CAP-21 - My first real aerobatic R/C ship. This plane was given to me by my brother, several years ago. She's been kept in storage all this time, waiting patiently, until I was ready to fly her. First "flight" took place on Sunday, 7 October 2001. Click here for the mad-CAP chronicles, and on the pic for a larger, more detailed version of the pic. The large pic will take a few seconds to come up, it's about 210k.
P-51 Mustang - Everybody gets to make one mistake, right?! This was mine. I spent 6 months building this beautiful plane and it flew for 25 seconds - maybe 10 of which were controlled. Never did find out what was wrong with it - not enough left for a decent autopsy. Oops!

Dynaflite Bird of Time - 16 May 2010 brought a new chapter into the world of planes for me - my first flights of a legend in sailplane history, the DynaFlite Bird of Time. That 118" wingspan means this is one big bird, and she flies like one - slow and easy, graceful as a swan. Just click her pic to join me on her main page.
20 June 2010 saw me taking possession of the oldest "new" plane in my collection, a 1967-era LiveWire Champ, Mark-2, designed by that legend of model airplane history - Hal DeBolt. Just a week later, she was in the air for the first time. Just click her pic to join me on her main page.
