Hi everyone,

I know it has been a difficult day and a hard week for a lot of our friends here.  I send all of you hugs, and wish you
peace, and in honor of my Reuben, who is leading the herd this week, I would like to tell you what is going on across
the bridge today.

There is lots of running, and bucking for those who love those things.  Reuben has challenged everyone to a race, and
for those who don't want to run, the grass is green and plentiful and wonderful for rolling as well as eating.  All of
them -- Reuben and Snowy and Robin and Lucy and Posey and Ruby and all the rest (and I think I see a dog named
Derringer out there with them) -- stop now and then and prick their ears and gaze off into the distance, as horses
do.  They're listening to us, I think.  The sun is out.  It's warm and bright, shining down on my boy who couldn't step
into the sun at all for the last six months of his life, shining down on all of our lovely herd, making their coats glitter
and shine.

They miss us every bit as much as we miss them, but, as horses so often are, they are more at peace with the way
things are than we are, more certain that it will all work out in the end.

I hope most of you are resting easy tonight.  Reuben brought me so much peace while he was with me, and I try to
let his memory do the same.  I hope others can find some comfort, too.
Across The Bridge Tonight

My "active" days in the Hoofbeats In Heaven group were incredibly rewarding,
I hope for others as much as for me.  This isn't really a story, it's just one of
many messages that are passed along the group every day, thousands every
month.  This particular message was #46530, sent on 24 February 2007 by a
lady who became, and will always remain, one of my best friends in the whole
group.

I miss my old Blackie, I miss Arizona too - she joined him this past Spring
(2008) on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Sarah, you probably don't even remember this message.  But, I do.  It's time
others got to see a bit of your heart, as I have.
