Tiny Dancer
The show is over; The lights have all been turned off.
The crowds are gone.
The arena crew just finished raking down the sand.  It looks like glass.
The horses are gone, except for you and me.
I'm in my blue jeans, changed from my show best.
You're in a silver halter, looking all polished.

Now that we are alone, I quickly lead you through the gate.
The arena is quiet now, no crowds, no noise, just some night lights,
circles in the sand.

There is nothing to fear now; It's just you and me.
As I stand in front of you, I whisper your name and then say;
"Hold me close, I'm your tiny dancer ... Let me dance in the sand".
Slowly I twirl in front of you, then move back to your shoulder.
Mounting you bareback from the sand.
Leaning forward, I whisper in your ear:
"I'm your tiny dancer...".
Using the lead line to guide you, we move to the center light.
Slowly we move in a circle around the light,
Casting shadows in the sand.

The dance begins to unfold and we move to our own rhythm.
Circles and side passes taht we know so well,
Figure eights, changing leads ... dancing in the sand.
"Hold me close, I'm your tiny dancer ... Let me dance in the sand".

Riding around the arena we find a rose in the sand.
Jumping off you, I gather it up and hold it toward you.
Whispering to you "This is for my love" ...
As we dance in the sand ... "Hold me close, I'm your tiny dancer".

Then when the morning comes and I awake,
Running down to the barn and to your stall.
I find you sound asleep.
Was it all a dream??

Quietly slipping inside your stall and looking around...
I find a rose floating in your water bucket...
"Hold me close, I'm your tiny dancer ... Let me dance in the sand".
I can only look back at you and smile.

Hold me close, I'm your tiny dancer ... Let me dance in the sand".
