Dreams Can Last A Lifetime
The dreams of one person can last a lifetime, if we only remember what we have placed in our hearts...

On a cool but windy day a young girl walks her horse out to a small green path that leads into the forest.
This is the path meant for one ... quickly with tears in her eyes, she slips off her horse's halter and they
start to walk down the forest path together.

After a few steps forward, she comes to a stop, but gently nudges her horse forward.  The horse takes a
few steps then turns and looks back at her.  She stands there watching with the empty halter in her hand,
crying softly.

The horse whinny's and nickers to her, and she seems to understand.  Quietly she answers back, "I can't
follow you today, but I promise that I will later".  As she stands alone, watching her horse turn and go
down the path alone, she whispers "I promise I'll come back for you someday ... I promise".

The years go by and the little girl grows up, she does all the things that girls do.  She goes to college, in
time she gets married and has children of her own.  In the end she has lived a full life.  Now, when death
approached, she found herself standing at the forest path, next to the little girl.  The woman gently took
the halter from the little girl and started down the same path that the horse took.  She turned one final
time and looked at the little girl, and said .. "I told you I'd keep our promise" .. and with that she
walked into the forest and returned to her horse.

Love,
Liz
