Gypsy
First, a word about this story; it's all true,
and this is a story that's so sad and poignant
it's left a lasting impression on me.
What happened to this lady should never be forgotten.

I know that I won't forget.

Gypsy is gone now, crossed over the rainbow bridge in 2002.

The website for the rescue shelter is gone too,
indeed, the rescue shelter itself is gone.
It closed in December 2005 after the last horses had been adopted out.

When I found out that they were closing I wrote to them to ask permission
to copy & re-create their website pages concerning Gypsy - but never received
an answer.  I copied them anyway - this story is too important, this horse and what
happened to her is too important, to simply fade to nothing and be forgotten.

The lines below come from her home website;

"Rescued in 1998, she was totally emaciated and sent her story to mankind.  Please read Gypsy's story.  After
gaining her weight back in 1999, she became a very healthy and beautiful horse.  In 2001 Gypsy started showing
signs of Cushing's disease.  By 2002 Cushing's disease carried her on the wings of angels.  She has left her final
words in
Gypsy's Last Chapter and is now running with the angels"

The story was actually written by a young lady connected with Gypsy's last home and I've linked it here because I
think everyone should become familiar with the nation-wide crimes concerning the starving of horses.

This is cruelty to animals.  This is what happened to Blackie before we rescued him.

This must stop!

First, I invite you to click on Gypsy's button, below.  It'll take you to my re-creation of the original story - read
what happened to her, written by the loving heart of a young lady.

Then, from there I ask you to read
Gypsy's Final Chapter, another extremely well written "goodbye" from Gypsy
through the heart of that same young lady.

Then, and most important,

REMEMBER!

Actually, I have few fears on that part, I don't think anyone could ever forget.
