You've probably noticed two things in the pics, first is the blue step. I'm using that, even
though it's rather easy to mount Blue, in order not to put too much side-pressure on him until
he's more accustomed to all this.
The other item is the long-sleeve flannel shirt. It's late-May in Virginia and it's still rather
cold in the morning.
Tuesday, 23 May 2006: Rode again, about 15 minutes before he started getting tired.
Going to take some time to build up his strength, I guess. Sue is leading him around with a
lead rope while I teach him what reins are all about. I talk to both of them constantly,
letting her know which way I'm going to pull so she can stay in front of him - which he seems
to like a great deal. So far, he's very content to walk right behind her with his nose on her
shoulder. The two pics here were taken just as we were getting started.
