| However, my Stuttgart assignment really started right here in Sembach AB, not far from Kaiserslautern (or K-town, as it was more popularly called). This location is where the final overseas touring of my Air Force career started. I wasn't here very long (about 9 months) but I did manage to visit the original old Frankenstein Castle, found and visited the town my family originally came from (Wittlich), and discovered real German baking, all by Bicycle. Yup, with no car available (Susan had the van in Syracuse at this time) all my travelling was done via my 15 year old, trusty, rusty, Huffy 10-speed. Then our unit broke up and our half moved to Stuttgart. |
